Magnetic Platform Layout

The new Magnetic Platform is so cool!  It holds framelits and edgelits perfectly in place while they go through the big shot.  It's especially handy when cutting out a stamped image so that it doesn't move at all.

I whipped up this layout in a matter of minutes and challenged myself to only use framelits and edgelits.

Stamps: Calendar Alphabet
Cardstock: Tangerine Tango, Sycamore Street DSP, Whisper White
Ink: Island Indigo
Accessories: Big Shot, Magnatic Platform, Framelits: Ovals Collection, Hearts A Flutter, Bitty Banners, Adorning Accents Edgelits, Cloudy Day Embossing Folder

Hexagon Layout

Hexagons would have to be one of the most "in" shapes at the moment.  I was so pleased that Stampin' Up! was bringing out a hexagon punch, along with matching stamp set, it was the first thing I put on my wishlist!

A Rustic Monotone Layout

I've had the stamp set "Creative Elements" on my wish list for ages.  I finally got around to ordering it and it arrived last week.  I knew exactly what photos I needed it for!

I tested out a number of different base cardstocks; Crumb Cake, Early Espresso, Sahara Sand before deciding on Soft Suede.  I think the effect of the white swirls on it looks so cool!
I wanted a rather rustic monotone feel to this layout to go with the photos which didn't have alot of colour in them either and just love how it turned out.  I also sanded around each photo which gave them a aged look.

Heartfelt Inspiration

I recently attended the fabulous Stampin' Up! Heartfelt Event in Auckland.  I was blown away by the Inspiration Boards that Demonstrators could contribute to for all to see (and take photos of : )  ).

This card was my offering to the board.  I call it my "Subtles Rainbow Iris-Fold Inspired" card!  (Me and my rainbows again...)

For the sentiment I scored a diecut from the new Window Frames Collection Framelits in the Holiday catalogue then adhered it to the card so that it popped up.

Can you also see the scoring I did with my Simply Scored?  It's called Diamondswirl and is a paving brick pattern.  I was doing a little surfing around and found this:
...and thought I'd have a try with one or two on my Simply Scored and Diagonal Plate.

Stamps: French Foliage, Word Play
Cardstock: Whisper White, Certainly Celery, Marina Mist, Perfect Plum, Pretty in Pink, Rose Red, So Saffron
Ink:  Certainly Celery, Marina Mist, Perfect Plum, Pretty in Pink, Rose Red, So Saffron, Basic Black

A Tasteful Rainbow

I've got a thing for rainbows at the moment.  Perhaps it's because my daughter loves to draw them and screams out the window everytime she sees one!  Perhaps it's because I just love the colours!

Anyway, I came up with an idea how to incorporate rainbow colours into a layout and was very happy with the result.

I started with a 12"x6" piece of Basic Black cardstock, and rubbed my glue stick all over it.  I then stuck on 6"x1" strips of cardstock.   Then ran it through the Big Shot with the Tasteful Trim die.  Voila!

This is a technique I will use again and have lots of other combinations I'd like to try, i.e. Designer Series Paper, Monotones, Subtles on Whisper White, Regals on Very Vanilla, different dies, etc, etc.  It's also great for using up scraps.

Stamps: Word Play, God's Blessings, Calendar Alphabet & Numbers
Cardstock: Basic Black, Whisper White, Real Red, Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delight, Old Olive, Tempting Turquoise, Rich Razzleberry
Ink: Basic Black, Real Red, Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delight, Old Olive, Tempting Turquoise, Rich Razzleberry

I've just completed my entry in this month's JAI Scrap Challenge and used up lots of retired ribbon in the process.  Yay!!
Hint:  It took a while to lay out my title but in the end found it much easier to use a small plate, laying it over the photo and then placing the letters around it.
