My Christmas Cards!

These little babies have recently been sent out to my nearest and dearest so I hope that they enjoy them because they were a labour of love!

I have a "thing" for the Pool Party colour and knew I wanted to use the new tulle ribbon, champagne glimmer paper and Heart of Christmas stamp so the design just grew from there.

I'm still not sure if I like the Early Espresso or Crumb Cake tulle better ...

... or the background trees stamped in Crumb Cake spritzed with Pool Party or stamped in Pool Party spritzed with Crumb Cake - these are difficult choices!
I have to show you the difference that the new Stampin' Spritzer tool makes too.  It's definately different to the Color Spritzer Tool which attaches to a marker.  The new tool actually holds water and a few drops of whatever coloured ink you like (in this case Early Espresso) then sprays it on!  How cool is that?  Better yet, it's only $NZ5.95 for 2!

While I was playing with designs I had my first go at a step card which I thought I'd share too:
Stamps: Heart of Christmas, Lovely As A Tree, Woodgrain Background, God's Blessings
Cardstock: Very Vanilla, Pool Party, Island Indigo, Champagne Glimmer Paper
Ink: Pool Party, Island Indigo, Early Espresso, Crumb Cake
Accessories: Big Shot, Adorning Accents Embossing Folder, Labels Collection Framelits, Jewelry Tag Punch, Sponge Daubers, Color Spritzer Tool, Stampin' Spritzer, Pearl Basic Jewels, Linen Thread, Crumb Cake/Early Espresso 3 1/2" Scalloped Tulle Ribbon

Birthday Banner

I decided to make a Happy Birthday Banner to display during the week of any birthdays occuring in our household so I whipped this baby up in no time at all using the Perfect Pennants Die!

A project like this is also a great way to use up scraps from retired designer series paper and cardstock.  It looks lovely up, I might just have to try a Merry Christmas one too!

Cardstock: Pool Party, Peach Parfait, Whisper White, Poppy Parade, Everyday Enchantment DSP
Accessories: Big Shot, Perfect Pennants Bigz L Die, Calypso Coral Ribbon

Wedding Invitation Samples

I have been asked by a good friend to make invitations for her son's upcoming wedding.  I created some samples using their chosen colours of pale orange, black, white and silver.  The main colour I used for the orange was Peach Parfait which is now retired.  We will have to find a suitable alternative once we've confirmed the layout.
This one is clean and simple:
Same card with the white insert removed:
 An embossed vellum butterfly:
 A little punch art:
A thank you card for after the wedding:
An invitation in the same style as these ones I did:
A tri-fold card with heart to hold it closed:
 A simple heat-embossed card:
 A framelit easel card:
(I sponged the heart with Peach Parfait to make it orange.)
 A Bride and Groom card:
A cute scallop circle die card:
 Which unfolds like this:
I won't list all the stamp sets or punches etc I've used as some are retired now but I hope you enjoyed what I created!

Heartfelt Inspiration

I recently attended the fabulous Stampin' Up! Heartfelt Event in Auckland.  I was blown away by the Inspiration Boards that Demonstrators could contribute to for all to see (and take photos of : )  ).

This card was my offering to the board.  I call it my "Subtles Rainbow Iris-Fold Inspired" card!  (Me and my rainbows again...)

For the sentiment I scored a diecut from the new Window Frames Collection Framelits in the Holiday catalogue then adhered it to the card so that it popped up.

Can you also see the scoring I did with my Simply Scored?  It's called Diamondswirl and is a paving brick pattern.  I was doing a little surfing around and found this:
...and thought I'd have a try with one or two on my Simply Scored and Diagonal Plate.

Stamps: French Foliage, Word Play
Cardstock: Whisper White, Certainly Celery, Marina Mist, Perfect Plum, Pretty in Pink, Rose Red, So Saffron
Ink:  Certainly Celery, Marina Mist, Perfect Plum, Pretty in Pink, Rose Red, So Saffron, Basic Black
Accessories: Big Shot, Window Frames Collection Framelit Dies, Simply Scored Scoring Tool, Simply Scored Diagonal Plate, Sponge Dauber

Here are some scrapbooking samples from the Inspiration Boards that I loved:

A Tasteful Rainbow

I've got a thing for rainbows at the moment.  Perhaps it's because my daughter loves to draw them and screams out the window everytime she sees one!  Perhaps it's because I just love the colours!

Anyway, I came up with an idea how to incorporate rainbow colours into a layout and was very happy with the result.

I started with a 12"x6" piece of Basic Black cardstock, and rubbed my glue stick all over it.  I then stuck on 6"x1" strips of cardstock.   Then ran it through the Big Shot with the Tasteful Trim die.  Voila!

This is a technique I will use again and have lots of other combinations I'd like to try, i.e. Designer Series Paper, Monotones, Subtles on Whisper White, Regals on Very Vanilla, different dies, etc, etc.  It's also great for using up scraps.

Stamps: Word Play, God's Blessings, Calendar Alphabet & Numbers
Cardstock: Basic Black, Whisper White, Real Red, Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delight, Old Olive, Tempting Turquoise, Rich Razzleberry
Ink: Basic Black, Real Red, Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delight, Old Olive, Tempting Turquoise, Rich Razzleberry
Accessories: Big Shot, Tasteful Trim Bigz XL Die, Labels Framelit Die, Designer Buttons (Brights), Jewelry Tag Punch

A Father's Day Tractor Foot!

I hope that every father you know of had a wonderful Father's Day today!

I have been so enjoying Pinterest!  I got the idea for this card from there.  I actually made 3 of them, one for my hubby, my own Dad and my FIL.  They all loved them!  I choose red because we currently have Case tractors on the farm and my father used to have a red Massey Ferguson.

The original idea can be found here and I used this one to help with the punch art.  My 2 year old son's foot became a self-inking stamp which only just fitted on the card front  :)

For the "cab" I used a small tag punch, punched out with a large tag punch, then one side was cut off.  Easy!

If you would like to follow me on Pinterest, find me here.

Stamps: I Dig You
Cardstock: Real Red, Whisper White, Basic Black, Basic Grey
Ink: Real Red, Basic Grey
Accessories: Punches (Large Tag, Small Tag, Word Window, 1/2" Circle, 1 1/4" Circle, 1 3/4" Scallop Circle)
