Inkspirations Sketch Challenge #21…..

Far out, two posts in one day, it's a record!

I had a big sort out in my card box the other day and put them all into the appropriate occasions, i.e. birthdays, baby, sympathy, etc. I found that I am low on some categories so look forward to seeing some new cards for my stash in the near future.

Here's a simple little baby girl card I made using this weeks Inkspirations Sketch Challenge for inspiration.
Stamps: Fun and Fast Notes
Cardstock: Whisper White, Regal Rose, Patterns Pack II (Hostess)
Ink: Basic Grey, Pastels
Accessories: 5/8" Regal Rose Grosgrain Ribbon, Scallop Oval Punch, Pretties Kit

The Young & The Restless Scrapbook Layout

I've been enjoying playing with my new big shot die-cutting machine. I've used alphabet dies on this page, cutting them out with ease from designer paper.I thought it was going to take ages cutting each letter out, one at a time, but then realised, you can lay four dies on the cutting pad at once which saved heaps of time. Please note: After I took these photos, I found that all my letters were back-to-front, i.e. I had to redo them, putting the side of the designer paper I wanted down instead of up. Lesson learned!

Stamps: Good Neighbours (Retired)
Cardstock: Spring Showers DSP (Retired)
Ink: Chocolate Chip, Close to Cocoa
Accessories: Hodgepodge Hardware, Big Shot, Timeless Type Junior Alphabet Dies, White Gel Pen, Rhinestone Brads, Black Stampin' Write Journaller, Mat Pack

Hot Chick Scrapbook Layout

Now alot of people don't seem to like Cameo Coral, some even calling it "puke pink". To be honest, it's not one of my favourite colours, and is a colour that we will be farewelling on 31 Aug, but it is one of the coordinating colours for the Raspberry Tart designer papers and I think is just lovely used more as an accent, rather than a main colour. Both Cameo Coral and Raspberry Tart just happen to coordinate with my daughters poncho too!
Stamps: Fresh Cuts, So Many Sayings (Retired Hostess), Alpha Stamps
Cardstock: Whisper White, Cameo Coral, Raspberry Tart DSP, Chocolate Chip
Ink: Chocolate Chip, Basic Grey Marker
Accessories: Extra-Large Two-Step Bird Punch, Spiral Punch

Colour Renovation

There's a big change in the works at Stampin' Up! After two years of extensive research, they have decided to totally revamp their colour families and are calling it a Colour Renovation. Now there are pros and cons to this of course, but I sincerely think that in the end the change is going to be fantastic and I'm looking forward to trying some new wonderful colour combinations! We're going to be keeping some colours, saying goodbye to some colours but also welcoming lots of fresh new colours!

The following charts will give you to low-down on it.
Under the Neutrals collection there is a colour called "Crumb Cake". This is actually a new name for Kraft which goes with EVERYTHING! A very cool colour indeed. All these new colours, including Crumb Cake, will be available in ink pads, markers, ribbon and cardstock.

In addition to these four colour collections, there will be five new in-colours each time a new catalogue starts (1 Sept) and those five colours will run for two years now instead of just one. So five will be introduced this year, plus five new ones next year so concurrenly, there will eventually be 10 in-colours available all year round!
I have to say there are a few colours I will miss though, Brilliant Blue and Barely Banana among them but there's still plenty of time to stock up before 1 Sept on those must-have keepsakes!
