My friend Judy has been visiting recently for one-on-one craft sessions. She wanted to make an album for her nephew who is 5 but as a beginner scrapbooker, had no idea where to start. So she bought a 6x6 album from me and here's what we came up with! I will do my best to remember all the colours/stamps sets etc! Where photos/mats have been cut to ovals, circles etc, I have used my Creative Memories cutting system and used the Big Shot too of course. Sorry about the quality of some photos, I was in a hurry!Stamps: Good Friend, Frames with a Flourish, So Swirly Colours: Perfect Plum, Pale Plum, Rich Razzleberry Accessories: Spritzer Tool Stamps: Baroque Motifs Colours: Cameo Coral, Raspberry Tart DSP Accessories: Big Shot, Timeless Type Alphabet Dies, White Ribbon, Boho Blossoms Punch, Rhinestone Brad Stamps: A Holly Jolly Christmas, Punches Three, Big Bold Birthday Colours: Real Red, Old Olive, Dashing DSP Accessories: Gold Embossing Powder, Heat Tool Stamps: Lovely Letters Colours: Old Olive, More Mustart, Night of Navy, Ski Slope DSP Stamps: Whimsical Words Colours: Basic Black, Pumpkin Pie, Bashful Blue, Washington Apple DSP Accessories: Heat Tool, White Embossing Powder, Rhinestone Brads, Scallop Edge Punch Stamps: Picture This, Sprinkles Colours: Whisper White, Brocade Blue, Bravo Burgundy Accessories: Brocade Blue & Whisper White Ribbons, Hodgepodge Hardware
I taught a class for Stamping Techniques on Scrapbook Pages the other day at my friends house. The ladies who attended were seasoned scrapbookers so I had to make the pages fairly advanced, yet not overloaded with techniques! Here's what I came up with:

I hope you don't mind seeing scrapbook layouts! I've got a bit of catching up to do so haven't been doing much else these days.
The little (big!) birdie from my Good Friend stamp set hasn't had an outing lately so I thought it was about time. Do you like where I stuck two of the brads? Children love been naked so I always have to cover up the family jewels! Also, I'm not a big fan of flowers on boy layouts but I decided that this was quite a 'manly' flower so stuck it on too ; ). Stamps: Good Friend Cardstock: Sahara Sand, Whisper White, Jersey Shore DSP (Retired) Ink: Brilliant Blue, Pumpkin Pie Accessories: Ribbon Originals (Pigtails), Pumpkin Pie Brads (Retired)
The title of your scrapbook page is an important part of the layout as it often sums up the whole "feel" of the page. If you’re having trouble deciding on a title, think about song, movie or book titles, sayings/quotes etc. When all else fails try www.scrapbook.com/titles or www.theperfecttitle. These sites are sorted by topic so it's easy to find the appropriate title.
SU! have a wonderful range of chipboard letters and alphabet stamp sets available. I highly recommend the stamps as you never run out of a particular letter and can make them any colour! If you have used alphabet stickers before you'll know how frustrating it is when you don't have an "e" or "a" to go with your chosen title.
Which brings me to a wonderful hint. I still have lots of chipboard letters and stickers that are waiting to be used and I discovered that anagram-based websites for scrabble work well for using these up! Today I used this one, but if you google "scrabble word finder" you'll find lots of other pages too. I used it to produce this title today as I was feeling particularly uncreative. (Was very surprised I had an "E" left too) The photos are of my sister and brother-in-law when they lived down at Wanaka. I covered the letters in the co-ordinating (retired) DSP (yes, still have lots of that left too!) I was really happy about the way the flowers came out, I wasn't feeling like cutting butterflies out today.
I followed this layout for inspiration:
Stamps: Good Friend
Cardstock: Chocolate Chip, Spring Showers DSP, Very Vanilla
Ink: Barely Banana, Chocolate Chip, Basic Grey Marker
Accessories: Very Vanilla 5/8" Grosgrain Ribbon, Scallop Border Punch, Chipboard letters (not SU!), Crimper, Pretties Kit, Mini Glue Dots, 5 Petal Flower Punch
