I've just completed my entry in this month's JAI Scrap Challenge and used up lots of retired ribbon in the process.  Yay!!
Hint:  It took a while to lay out my title but in the end found it much easier to use a small plate, laying it over the photo and then placing the letters around it.

Sewing Girls Clothes - Stampin Up Style!

Apart from mending clothes and this wall hanging I have not done much sewing for a long time!  I used to sew alot of my own clothes when I first started working but now that I'm a SAHM I mostly wear t shirts and jeans.  But I decided that my daughter, who has just turned 5, needed some nice new clothes for school and church so here is what I created for her using Stampin Up! fabric and my existing stash of material.

This dress was inspired by this one I saw on Pinterest.  It has a really easy-to-follow tutorial and I love the patchwork look of it.

I found that after she had worn it for a couple of hours the ribbon on her shoulders was starting to pull apart so I had to sew another line of thread down the middle to give it more strength.  But I'm glad I used that ribbon because it coordinates with Twitterpated Fabric and looks so pretty!
SU! Supplies: Twitterpated Designer Fabric, Riding Hood Red 3/8" Pleated Satin Ribbon

I recently purchased "Making Children's Clothes" by Emma Hardy and this dress is on the cover.  I made it 6" longer as it was for a toddler, but I didn't make it wider and it fits my 5 year old perfectly.
SU! Supplies: Big Shot, Beautiful Butterflies Bigz Die, Big Shot Fabric Adhesive Roll, Whisper White Button, Whisper White 1/4" Grosgrain Ribbon

I used the remaining Twitterpated fabric to make this skirt from the same book.  I added the white to make it go a little further but if I'd still had a full pack of SU! fabric I would have just cut strips as in the book.

And this last skirt was the same as the one above but using my leftover Spice Cake fabric.
